Supply Pay Seeks Collaboration with Importers and Exporters
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Supply Pay, a tech startup based in Weslaco, is reaching out to importers and exporters to refine its platform designed to streamline international supply chains. The company’s CEO and co-founder, William Steele, made this appeal at the 2025 South Texas Summit hosted by the South Texas Business Partnership.
During a panel discussion on Emerging Industries & Economic Growth, Steele explained that while Supply Pay has initially focused on the fresh produce trade between Mexico and the United States, they are now eager to expand their reach to various industries. “We’re really interested in talking to importers in the South Texas area or anywhere in the United States, and exporters in Mexico, exporting and importing any types of goods,” Steele said in an interview with the Rio Grande Guardian International News Service.

Steele emphasized that the company’s platform is not limited to fresh produce but is open to automotive, textiles, e-commerce, and other sectors. “We would love to hear from importers and exporters if they’re in fresh produce. But we would love to hear from them if they’re in automotive. We would love to hear from them if they’re in textiles, e-commerce, anything,” he stated.
The startup’s concept revolves around building tools, software, and financing solutions for exporters and importers, particularly leveraging the Rio Grande Valley’s significance as a major import-export region for fresh produce. Steele believes that by solving supply chain issues in this region, Supply Pay can scale its solutions for other terrestrial borders.
Supply Pay’s journey has seen significant milestones, including winning first place at the Principled Business pitch competition at FreedomFest in Palm Springs, California, with a grand prize of $15,000. Steele had the opportunity to pitch to notable investors and entrepreneurs such as Steve Forbes, Ross Ulbricht, and Cornell West.
As Supply Pay continues to grow, the company remains committed to iterating its platform based on feedback from potential users. Steele’s appeal to importers and exporters underscores the company’s dedication to creating a robust and versatile supply chain management system.
