Lehigh Valley-based payments and commerce technology company Shift4 has announced its acquisition of Smartpay, a New Zealand credit card processing company, in a deal worth approximately $180 million.

Financial technology startup Ramp, backed by Silicon Valley billionaires including Peter Thiel and Elon Musk allies, has been meeting with Trump appointees at the General Services Administration (GSA) to potentially secure a $25 million pilot program for the government’s $700 billion internal expense card program, SmartPay.
