Taiwan is reaching out to potential partners worldwide for its homegrown healthcare industry through a new global initiative. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council, commissioned by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, has launched a worldwide call for proposals under the theme ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan’.
The initiative aims to engage various stakeholders, including governments, institutions, enterprises, and organizations, to submit innovative proposals that integrate Taiwan’s health innovations. According to Susan Hu, TITA Deputy Director General, this effort aligns with Taiwan President Lai Ching-te’s vision of a ‘Healthy Taiwan’.
The ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan’ campaign focuses on five key sectors of Taiwan’s health industry:
- Smart healthcare technologies
- Medical aesthetics and wellness checkups
- Fitness equipment
- Sports technologies
- Bicycles
Taiwan is recognized for its leading health technology sector, leveraging its globally recognized ICT and semiconductor industry to strengthen its position in the global health tech market.
The initiative expects to receive over 500 submissions from across five continents. The top three proposals will each be awarded US$30,000. All high-quality entries will have the opportunity to explore collaboration and commercialization with Taiwanese companies.
The submission period is open until August 14, 2025. More information is available online at the organization’s website.
