The biggest startup funding deals of the week were marked by a relative lull in megadeals, with no round exceeding $200 million. This represents a significant change from the previous week, which saw a record-breaking venture investment and 11 rounds of $100 million or more.

Base Power: $200M Series B in energy The Austin-based startup, which installs residential backup power systems, raised its Series B round led by Addition. Founded in 2023, Base Power has now raised $268 million.

Caris Life Sciences: $168M growth round in biotech Irving, Texas-based Caris Life Sciences, which is developing medicine through molecular profiling and AI, raised its growth round led by Braidwell. The company has raised $1.9 billion since its founding in 2018.

Merida Biosciences: $121M Series A in biotech Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Merida Biosciences launched with a $121 million Series A financing round co-led by Bain Capital Life Sciences, Biotechnology Value Fund, and Third Rock Ventures.

Rescale: $115M Series D in simulation San Francisco-based Rescale, a digital engineering platform, secured a $115 million Series D round with participation from Applied Ventures and Nvidia.

Nuro: $106M in ongoing Series E in autonomous driving Mountain View, California-based Nuro raised $106 million in its ongoing Series E round, valuing the company at $6 billion. This is down from its 2021 valuation of $8.6 billion.
