Visit Qatar and Microsoft Unite to Advance Smart Tourism
Visit Qatar and Microsoft have announced a partnership to drive digital innovation within Qatar’s tourism sector. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at Web Summit Qatar 2025, aims to enhance visitor experiences and transform operational practices using cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.

Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, and Lana Khalaf, Country Manager of Microsoft, executed the agreement. The partnership builds upon the success of Visit Qatar’s GenAI Travel Concierge, which utilizes Microsoft Azure and OpenAI’s 4o and 4o mini models.
“The Smart Travel Assistant from Visit Qatar, which seamlessly combines text, voice, content, a conversational virtual assistant, maps, and an interactive planning interface, establishes new benchmarks for digital excellence in tourism,” a representative from Visit Qatar stated.
The collaboration will focus on developing a comprehensive technology roadmap designed to improve the overall visitor experience through integrated smart and digital solutions.
This initiative further underscores their commitment to leading the way in digital innovation in tourism.
The partnership reflects a shared vision to use technology to create more engaging and efficient tourism services, aligning with Qatar’s broader strategy to attract visitors and foster economic growth. Further details on specific projects and implementations are expected in the coming months.
