WearOptimo Forms Advisory Board to Accelerate Microwearable Sensor Development
BRISBANE, Australia and NEW YORK – March 11, 2025 – WearOptimo, a healthcare technology company focused on next-generation Microwearable sensors for hydration and biomarker monitoring, has announced the formation of its Advisory Board. The newly formed board comprises six globally recognized experts with deep experience in biotechnology, healthcare, regulatory affairs, and venture investment.
This strategic move is designed to accelerate the development and U.S. launch of WearOptimo’s Microwearable hydration sensor. The initial target market for the technology is the professional and elite amateur sports sector.

WearOptimo’s first application of its technology uses a non-invasive skin-patch to provide real-time, continuous hydration monitoring. The company plans to expand beyond sports to address hydration-related health issues in wellness, defense, and high-risk industries like mining. The platform is also designed to support other biomarker monitoring applications.
Advisory Board Members:
The WearOptimo Advisory Board includes the following members, each bringing extensive experience to the company:
- Dr. Robert Langer: A professor at MIT, Dr. Langer has co-founded over 40 businesses, including Moderna. He has over 1,500 patents and has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.
- Dr. Douglas E. Williams, Ph.D.: The former EVP of R&D at Biogen, Dr. Williams brings decades of experience in biopharmaceutical innovation and business leadership.
- Peter Barton Hutt: A leading expert in food and drug law and former Chief Counsel for the U.S. FDA. He is a professor at Harvard Law School and serves on several health and biotech company boards.
- Dr. Luke Bennett: Former Director of Hintsa Performance and a leading expert in athletic health and performance. He will advise on the application of WearOptimo’s hydration sensors in elite sports.
- Jeff Wong: The former Global Chief Innovation Officer at EY. Mr. Wong brings experience across strategy, investing, and building new ventures globally.
- Dr. Peter Wrighton-Smith, Ph.D.: Founder and former CEO of Oxford Immunotec, a diagnostics company. He has extensive experience in growing and scaling life sciences companies.
WearOptimo’s technology has already gained commercial traction with Aspen Medical, which serves the mining and defense industries. The company also has partnerships with elite sports organizations, including investment from Formula 1 champion Mark Webber.
