Healthcare Leaders Adopt Clarium’s AI-Powered Supply Chain Resiliency Platform
Amid global supply chain volatility, major healthcare providers like Yale, Stanford, and Kaiser Permanente are turning to Clarium’s innovative platform to build more resilient supply networks. This development comes as Clarium announced a $27 million Series A funding round led by Northzone, bringing their total funding to $43 million.
The healthcare industry faces significant challenges with supply chain inefficiencies, resulting in over $25 billion in annual overspending. Factors such as fragmented data, inefficient workflows, and wasted supplies contribute to these issues. Clarium’s AI-powered platform, Astra OS, addresses these problems by collecting and unifying data from providers, suppliers, and vendors across the healthcare supply chain.

“The fragmentation and inefficiencies of the healthcare supply chain continue to plague our country’s hospital systems as they face more financial pressure than ever,” said Steve Liou, Founder and CEO of Clarium. “We’re leveraging AI to modernize the hospital supply chain, working directly with health systems to develop technology that enhances productivity, cuts wasteful spend, and improves patient health outcomes.”
Healthcare leaders have praised Clarium’s innovative approach. “Working closely with Clarium has allowed us to access the next-gen technology we need to manage our supply chain more efficiently,” said Jacqueline Epright, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Yale New Haven Health. “Clarium is innovative in addressing supply chain pain points and truly dedicated to helping our hospital systems save on costs and deliver the best possible health outcomes to patients.”
The funding will enable Clarium to accelerate the development of Astra OS, expand its team, and develop relationships with new health system partners. Industry experts believe Clarium has the potential to transform hospital procurement processes, which have remained largely unchanged since the 20th century.
“Despite many recent advancements in healthcare technology, hospital procurement processes have largely remained stuck in the 20th century,” said Molly Alter, Partner at Northzone. “Clarium is the first comprehensive, end-to-end platform for managing the hospital supply chain. We believe Clarium possesses the technology and vision to enable end-to-end supply chain management for every one of the 5,000 hospitals nationwide.”
Clarium has made significant progress since its seed funding in 2024, doubling its headcount and adding key leadership positions. The company has expanded its collaborations to include major health systems such as The Cleveland Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and others. Clarium has also announced a strategic partnership with the Healthcare Industry Resiliency Collaborative (HIRC) to co-develop transformative technology and data standards in the healthcare supply chain sector.
As the healthcare industry continues to face supply chain challenges, Clarium’s innovative platform is poised to play a crucial role in building more resilient and efficient healthcare supply networks.
