Zimmer Biomet (NYSE: ZBH) and Getinge have announced a strategic partnership focused on ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs). The partnership allows Zimmer Biomet to distribute Getinge’s operating room (OR) capital products to its ASC customers, creating a turnkey solution that combines Getinge’s infection control and surgical portfolio with Zimmer Biomet’s implants and surgical robotic offerings.
The collaboration comes as ASCs continue to grow in importance within the U.S. healthcare landscape. Zimmer Biomet can now offer ASC customers Getinge’s surgical equipment, OR integration, and lighting alongside its own implants and technologies. “This partnership represents a significant advancement in our efforts to innovate and expand healthcare boundaries,” said Patricia Fitch, president of North America at Getinge. “We’re committed to making life-saving technology accessible to more people.”
The companies plan to implement the partnership in phases, starting in the U.S. and eventually expanding to other global regions. “Together with Getinge, we’re expanding our ability to deliver a comprehensive solution for ASC customers – faster and more seamlessly – from a company they know and trust,” said Jehanzeb Noor, SVP and chief strategy, innovation, and business development officer at Zimmer Biomet.
As orthopedic surgeries increasingly move from traditional hospital settings to ASCs, the need to drive efficiency, enhance patient safety, and improve clinical outcomes has become more critical. The partnership between Zimmer Biomet and Getinge aims to support surgeons in advancing these priorities while shaping the future of orthopedic care.
