Zoox has entered into a partnership with Resorts World in Las Vegas to offer robotaxi rides to guests, marking a significant expansion of its autonomous vehicle testing in the city. The company is simultaneously continuing its testing operations in San Francisco, where Waymo has successfully integrated driverless cars into the city’s transportation landscape. San Francisco, famous for its historic cable cars dating back to the 1870s, has become a key location for autonomous vehicle testing. Last month, a minor incident occurred during Zoox’s San Francisco testing when one of its robotaxis came into contact with an electric scooter rider. The incident, which fortunately resulted in no injuries, prompted Zoox to issue a voluntary recall to update and enhance its self-driving technology. This proactive measure demonstrates the company’s commitment to safety and continuous improvement in its autonomous driving systems.
